Framed Print | Collage 46

This is a giclée print of an original collage work crafted from arranged, hand dyed paper. The image was printed with archival pigments on acid-free paper with a smooth, neutral-white fine art paper and includes a textured off-white border that bleeds right to the edge of the print. 

Katy Schmader is an artist who spends her time between Austin, Texas and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In her work, Schmader creates meticulous, abstract landscape collages composed of paper that has been dyed with natural, earthly elements, stripped and torn, boiled, burned, waxed, crumpled — and then flattened. The resulting strips are then pressed together to create an intimate landscape. Inspired by ancient wood blocking techniques, the collages are then carefully crafted to create the ‘block,’ from which an edition of prints is created. 

Set in a floating format in white square frame.
